Basketball Game Preview: Lake Park Lancers vs. Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers

The Lake Park Lancers will venture away from home to face off against the Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Lake Park didn't have too much breathing room in their game against St. Charles North, but they still walked away with a 39-33 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Meanwhile, Wheaton-Warrenville South had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 54-44 win over the Bulldogs. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 14-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Wheaton-Warrenville South pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Lake Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season.

Lake Park didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Wheaton-Warrenville South in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 41-37 win.
