Softball Game Preview: Sky View Bobcats vs. West Field Longhorns

The Sky View Bobcats are taking a road trip to square off against the West Field Longhorns at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Field took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sky View, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Sky View needed a bit of extra time to put away Mountain Crest. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Mustangs 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bobcats have posted since March 8th.

Avaree Haramoto spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Sky View let Kaylee Eskelson and Jenna Bell run wild. Eskelson went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Bell scored two runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Bell has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliza Birman, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for West Field's offense. They fell 4-0 to Bear River on Tuesday. The Longhorns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Field's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Sky View, they moved to 6-12 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Sky View came up short against West Field when the teams last played last Tuesday, falling 9-5. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
