Flag Football Game Preview: Centennial Huskies vs. King Wolves

Centennial is a perfect 3-0 against King since September of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Huskies will take on the Wolves in a tournament on Monday. Centennial's offense hasn't had much luck over their past five games, but Monday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Monday, Centennial came up short against Roosevelt and fell 20-12.

Centennial didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Demia Swanson, Brystal Albright, and Darby Shannon picked up one apiece. Shannon has been hot recently, having posted at least one interception the last three times she's played. Another thorn in Roosevelt's side was Jaylene Sangenito, who picked up three sacks and made three total tackles.

Meanwhile, King and Shadow Hills were almost perfectly matched up on Wednesday, but King suffered a 20-19 defeat. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 286th, while the Knights are ranked 62nd).

King now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 13-15.

Centennial didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against King in their previous matchup back in September, but they still walked away with an 18-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
