Willapa Valley waltzed into their matchup on Friday with 17 straight wins... but they left with 18. They took down the Ocosta Wildcats 58-41. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Vikings considering their two-point performance the game before.

Willapa Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blane King, who went 10 of 19 en route to 20 points. King's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Fluke, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

When it comes to explaining why Ocosta lost, don't look at Luis Solis. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. That's the most rebounds Solis has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jesus Agramon, who went 6 of 15 to rack up 13 points and six assists.

Willapa Valley's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2. As for Ocosta, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5.

Looking ahead, Willapa Valley will welcome Oakville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Willapa Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.5 points per game this season. As for Ocosta, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-53 loss against Naselle on the 8th.
