Basketball Game Preview: Hillcrest Huskies vs. Stansbury Stallions

Hillcrest has won six straight games at home, while Stansbury has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Hillcrest Huskies will welcome the Stansbury Stallions at 7:00 p.m. Hillcrest is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Hillcrest came up short against Murray and fell 56-49.

Hillcrest might have lost, but man, Myles Mahler was a machine: he almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, Mahler is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Anton Mahler, who posted 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Stansbury posted their biggest victory since December 27, 2024 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Tooele with a sharp 61-36 win.

Stansbury is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-13 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Hillcrest, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Hillcrest strolled past Stansbury in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 57-43. Does Hillcrest have another victory up their sleeve, or will Stansbury turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
