Basketball Recap: Los Lunas Takes a Loss

Los Lunas lost against Valley back in January of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Los Lunas Tigers took a 55-41 bruising from the Valley Vikings.

It was another big night for Angelito Villa, who went 8 for 9 on his way to 20 points for Valley. Villa's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Luciano Mondragon was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

Los Lunas' defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Valley, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Los Lunas will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Piedra Vista at 4:00 p.m. on December 27th. As for Valley, they will welcome Manzano at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Manzano likes a good challenge.
