League recap: Huntington Beach stuns Los Alamitos in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Los Alamitos, who took down 58th ranked Los Alamitos, 28-7. Kai Ross threw for 119 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 32 yards in the win.

Huntington Beach moved up to 145 from 189 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Sunset. The Oilers were able to make move up by defeating the Griffins 28-7.

Trevor Borkowski was the best wideout in the league this week as Edison defeated Fountain Valley. Borkowski racked up three receptions for 54 yards. Marcus Stepancich helped Edison's passing attack out by catching two balls for 28 yards.

Bowen Breunig was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 145 yards on 26 carries as Huntington Beach beat the Barons.

6-foot-3 quarterback Aleksander Torgersen of Edison is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1341. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. On the ground, Eric Lo's team's Ross has rushed for 685 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Marco Valenzuela. The Huntington Beach star has 19 catches for 406 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Dave White's team takes on the Oilers. At the moment, the Chargers are in first, while Huntington Beach is in fourth.

There should be lots of points scored when Edison and the Oilers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Chargers comes in having scored 260 this season, while Huntington Beach has scored 237. Edison scored 21 points last week as it topped Fountain Valley.

The Chargers extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating John Shipp's team, 21-3. The win marks fifth in a row for the Edison.
