Softball Recap: Hopkinton Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Hopkinton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Westwood Wolverines 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hillers have posted against the Wolverines since May 16, 2022.

Addy Walls spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Hopkinton's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Westwood, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.
