Incarnate Word Academy faced Jackson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Red Knights blew past the Fighting Indians 3-0. This was a revenge game for the Red Knights: when they faced off against the Fighting Indians last Saturday, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

While Incarnate Word Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-24, 25-18.

Cate Mcculloch paced Incarnate Word Academy's offense, picking up 12 kills. Mcculloch got some help from Avery Buckley and her 32 assists. Buckley was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Incarnate Word Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 20-12 record this season. As for Jackson, with the defeat, they broke their 23-match winning streak and moved their record to 33-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Incarnate Word Academy will take on Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jackson, they will be playing at home against Eureka at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
