Volleyball Recap: Miller Takes a Loss

After flying high against Berne Union on Tuesday, Miller came back down to earth. The Falcons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fairfield Christian Academy Knights on Thursday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Miller started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-23.

Lexi Wharton was nothing short of spectacular for Fairfield Christian Academy: she had 20 digs and two aces. What's more, Wharton posted three kills, the most she's had since back in August.

Miller's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Fairfield Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Miller will take on Millersport at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairfield Christian Academy, they have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Liberty Union on the 20th.
