Softball Recap: Vassar Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Vassar unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 19-6 to the Harbor Beach Pirates on Wednesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.

Della Long and AJ Reamy stepped up to the plate in a big way. Long scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Reamy scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Harbor Beach beat Vassar by a score of 8-5 later that day.
