The StoneBridge Cavaliers and the Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (StoneBridge has nine straight victories, Greenbrier Christian Academy has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
On Thursday, StoneBridge didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hampton Christian Academy, but they still walked away with a 32-28 win.

StoneBridge relied on the efforts of Claire Bruseke, who posted ten points and six steals, and Sarah Busby, who earned eight points and three steals. Those six steals gave Bruseke a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Greenbrier Christian Academy suffered their closest defeat since February 8, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Broadwater Academy by a score of 34-31.
Despite the loss, Greenbrier Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Katelyn Balka dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 boards. Balka is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kaylee Harmon also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Even though they lost, Greenbrier Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Greenbrier Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for StoneBridge, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: StoneBridge has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 33 boards per game. However, it's not like Greenbrier Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
