Soccer Recap: Hoover Takes a Loss

Hoover started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against University City. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the University City Centurions on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 541st, while the Centurions are ranked 86th).

Helio Sanchez and Diego Viveros scored both of Hoover's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Hoover and nudges their season record down to 6-10-6. As for University City, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2-5.

Hoover didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Clairemont on the 30th. University City has also already played their next match, a 1-0 victory against Mission Bay on the 30th.
