Recap: Ball Tornadoes vs. Texas City Stingarees

The Ball Tornadoes won the last time they faced the Texas City Stingarees, and things went their way on Friday too. Ball walked away with a 45-33 victory over Texas City.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ball to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braeon Arceneaux, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Arceneaux is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kalyn Toussaint was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Texas City lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kamille Merchant. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Merchant continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kalynn Smith, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.

Ball's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Texas City, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-13.

Ball will take on Manvel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manvel knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Ball likes a good challenge. As for Texas City, they will head out on the road to face off against Angleton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
