Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Leo Lions on Friday, sneaking past 48-45. The win was nothing new for the Saints as they're now sitting on four straight.

Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger can attribute much of their success to Josie Wharton, who went 5-for-7 en route to 14 points and six steals. Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger is 4-1 when Wharton posts three or more steals, but 8-13 otherwise. Izzie Eke was another key player, putting up 12 points and five boards.

Leo lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Leah Shappell, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (seven). Another player making a difference was Malina Lape, who posted 17 points and five boards.

Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger's victory bumped their record up to 12-14. As for Leo, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger has already played their next contest, a 59-51 defeat against East Noble on the 8th. Leo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
