Baseball Recap: Mark Keppel's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Mark Keppel had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Gabrielino Eagles with a sharp 10-4 win on Monday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Aztecs' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Ryan Lee was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Mark Keppel's victory bumped their record up to 4-16. As for Gabrielino, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9-1 record this season.

Mark Keppel will welcome Garfield at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Aztecs are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Gabrielino, they will head out on the road to square off against El Monte at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: the Lions will have lost 15 straight heading into Monday's contest.
