Soccer Recap: Mesa Ridge Triumphs

Mesa Ridge's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mitchell Marauders a 10-0 shutout. Mesa Ridge haven't had any issues with Mitchell recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Mesa Ridge's offense was hitting Mitchell from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal. Laycie Gerhardt led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

The victory got Mesa Ridge back to even at 4-4. As for Mitchell, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Mesa Ridge will welcome Pueblo South at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mitchell, they will head out to square off against Sand Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mitchell are facing Sand Creek at the right time seeing as Sand Creek are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
