Volleyball Recap: Masconomet Regional's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It was a good run, but Masconomet Regional unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Billerica Memorial Indians. The shutout was out of character for the Chieftains seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18, 25-16.

Masconomet Regional's offense was headlined by Aimee Quimby and Cate Wettstone, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Nora Sterner and her seven assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Masconomet Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Billerica Memorial, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 8-11.

Masconomet Regional wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Ipswich on the 21st. As for Billerica Memorial, they will welcome Shawsheen Valley Tech at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
