Basketball Recap: Winfield Snaps 13-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Buhler came into Monday's matchup looking for another win against Winfield, but Christian Moree wouldn't allow it. The Winfield Vikings took down the Buhler Crusaders 54-38 on Monday thanks in part to Moree, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. The game was his eighth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Drew Graham, who posted a point along with nine rebounds and three blocks. That's the most blocks he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Buhler's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Miller, who had 11 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Holmberg, who scored eight points.

Winfield's win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3. As for Buhler, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Winfield has already played their next contest, a 64-26 loss against McPherson on the 14th. As for Buhler, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-52 defeat against Augusta on the 14th.
