Basketball Recap: Lee Christian Takes a Loss

Lee Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 70-48 to the Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-56 on January 7th.

Loss or not, Lee Christian got some senior leadership from Daniel Rumbold and Luke Railo. Rumbold went 6 for 14 on his way to 16 points and six boards, while Railo went 7 of 16 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. That's the most rebounds Railo has posted since back in November of 2024. Christian Wilson was another key player, putting up six points.

Cape Fear Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caden Scarborough, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 14 points along with seven assists and six boards. Another player making a difference was Kayden Dunkins, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Lee Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-8.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing New Garden Friends the next time they take the court. Lee Christian will host New Garden Friends at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Cape Fear Christian Academy will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
