Football Recap: Southport Cardinals vs. Perry Meridian Falcons
Southport extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-2. They were outmatched by the Perry Meridian Falcons and fell 41-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 42-12 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Those 324 passing yards gave Schoch a new career-high. Perry Meridian also got a significant boost from Tristan Ling, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 94 yards.
Southport and Perry Meridian will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cardinals will face off against rival Columbus North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Perry Meridian is set to take on their familiar foe Franklin Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
