Preview: Montgomery Tigers vs. Logansport Tigers
Montgomery has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Logansport Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Montgomery never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Westminster Christian Academy last Friday. They blew past the 41-18.
Jacorian Shepherd was the offensive standout of the game as he punched in three rushing scores.
Meanwhile, Logansport had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They took down St. Mary 20-3.
Logansport's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but D'warr'tez Chatman led the charge by gaining 72 total yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakamden Flemon, who rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Montgomery now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Logansport, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1.
Montgomery took a serious blow against Logansport in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 54-0. Can Montgomery avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
