Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Mckinley's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

McKinley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 64-53 win over the Medina Battling Bees on Saturday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Battling Bees are ranked 154th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Reed Sims Jr was his usual excellent self, going 8-for-14 en route to 22 points and three steals. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Anthony Chavers was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took to post 13 points.

McKinley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Medina has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

McKinley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-60 victory against Whitmer on the 4th. Medina does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
