Basketball Recap: Collegiate Takes a Loss

Collegiate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a blow against the GEO Next Generation Tigers, falling 58-19. If Collegiate was looking for revenge after losing 49-18 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

GEO Next Generation's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ivoryana Powell, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Rylee Jones, who put up 12 points.

Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for GEO Next Generation, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-6.

Collegiate will face off against Port Allen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for GEO Next Generation, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the GEO Next Generation Tigers take on the Livonia Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
