Softball Recap: Strongsville's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Steele, Strongsville was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Avon Eagles. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Addison Heidenhoffer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

Strongsville's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Avon, they moved to 12-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Strongsville will take on McKinley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Avon, they will host Perry at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
