Recap: Oak Grove Warriors vs. Brandon Bulldogs
The Oak Grove Warriors won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 66-42 walloping at the hands of Brandon. Oak Grove has struggled against Brandon recently, as their game on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Brandon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braylon Barnes out in front who scored 20 points along with four steals. Barnes hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. Ottis Harrison was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Oak Grove's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Brandon, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Grove will square off against Northwest Rankin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Rankin is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Brandon, they will head out on the road to take on Meridian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Meridian is ranked 22nd, while Brandon is ranked 45th).
