Softball Recap: Waukon Comes Up Short

Waukon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Charles City Comets, falling 14-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 15-10 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in July of 2024.

Waukon's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Charles City, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Waukon has already played their next game (against New Hampton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Charles City, they will be playing at home against Decorah-North Winneshiek at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Comets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
