Basketball Game Preview: Fayetteville-Perry Rockets vs. West Union Dragons

Fayetteville-Perry is 10-0 against West Union since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Fayetteville-Perry Rockets will be playing at home against the West Union Dragons at 6:00 p.m. Fayetteville-Perry is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season.

Fayetteville-Perry's tournament run continued when they took on Minford on Saturday. Fayetteville-Perry fell 50-38 to Minford. The contest marked the Rockets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ava Corsmeier, who posted six points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (three). Ava Baker was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led West Union over East in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that West Union blew East out of the water with a 57-18 final score. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-10.

Fayetteville-Perry's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-3. As for West Union, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Everything came up roses for Fayetteville-Perry against West Union when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 62-29 victory. Will Fayetteville-Perry repeat their success, or does West Union have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
