Basketball Recap: Dietrich Piles Up the Points Against Hansen

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dietrich). They took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 66-35 win over the Hansen Huskies. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 22 points or more this season.

Dietrich had a senior duo take command as Aleigha Robertson went 9 of 19 on her way to 21 points and five steals and Paje Van Tassell went 6 of 14 en route to 20 points along with eight steals and five boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robertson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ada Bingham, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 11 points and six rebounds.

Dietrich smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Dietrich's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Hansen, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Dietrich wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-34 loss against West Jefferson on the 11th. As for Hansen, they will welcome Shoshone at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hansen is facing Shoshone at the right time seeing as Shoshone is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
