Football Game Preview: South Lakes Seahawks vs. James Madison Warhawks + How To Watch

The South Lakes Seahawks will venture away from home to face off against the James Madison Warhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Lakes will be strutting in after a win while James Madison will be coming in after a defeat.

South Lakes is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They managed a 33-28 victory over Chantilly on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Seahawks.

South Lakes' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Wyatt, who threw for 293 yards and four TDs while picking up 14.7 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 42 yards and one touchdown. Those four passing touchdowns gave Wyatt a new career-high. Nick Picarelli was Wyatt's top target, picking up 197 receiving yards and three scores.

Meanwhile, James Madison didn't have quite enough to beat Centreville on Friday and fell 35-32. The Warhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South Lakes will have to contain Matthew Weiler as he made an impact in James Madison's last game. He rushed for 189 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Weiler also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because James Madison is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.

South Lakes' victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for James Madison, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

South Lakes was taken down by James Madison 35-7 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Seahawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
