Basketball Recap: Canton Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Canton waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They took down the Schuyler County Rams 63-45. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Rams are ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Canton was led to victory by Kaden Oliver and Preston Brewer. Oliver dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards, while Brewer dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Brewer's fourth in a row with at least 18 points. Drew Gottman was another key player, putting up nine points.

Canton's victory bumped their record up to 22-5. As for Schuyler County, they moved to 23-13 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Canton nor Schuyler County have any future games scheduled.
