Baseball Recap: Milwaukee Hamilton Gets the Win

While Milwaukee Hamilton's win against Pulaski wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Rams 9-8. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.

Ignacio Talamantes made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Talamantes is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Nyjal Ewing was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Milwaukee Hamilton is 2-1 when Ewing posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise. Brayden Sadler also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

The victory got Milwaukee Hamilton back to even at 3-3. As for Pulaski, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Milwaukee Hamilton will face off against Augustine Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Pulaski will be paying especially close attention to the Wildcats' contest: after the Wildcats face off against Dominican, they'll take on Pulaski again at 5:00 p.m. on the 26th.
