Basketball Recap: Brady Kuebler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Stoneman Douglas over Northeast

Stoneman Douglas lost against Northeast back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Stoneman Douglas Eagles took a 74-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northeast Hurricanes. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (68), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brady Kuebler, who posted 16 points. That's the most points Kuebler has posted since back in November of 2024. Ayden Mclean was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Jonathan Senior went supernova for Northeast, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 16 boards. Another player making a difference was Dean Vital, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Stoneman Douglas dropped their record down to 8-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Northeast, they moved to 4-15 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Stoneman Douglas has already played their next game, a 67-43 victory against Monarch on the 27th. As for Northeast, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 82-48 loss against McArthur on the 27th.
