Recap: Tift County Blue Devils vs. Lee County Trojans

The Tift County Blue Devils were the 35-24 winner over the Lee County Trojans when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Tift County fell 54-42 to Lee County on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Tift County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Lee County is ranked 14th).

Kaden Lawson and TeShawn Bryant certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Lawson scored ten points along with seven rebounds, while Bryant scored ten points.

Leading Lee County to victory were Josiah Parker and Braden Moore. Parker dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Moore scored 16 points along with nine assists. Parker is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Ousmane Kromah was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.

Tift County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Lee County, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

Tift County and Cook will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Cook focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday. Lee County on the road again on Monday and play against Valdosta at 5:30 p.m. on January 15th. Hopefully Valdosta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday.
