Softball Game Preview: Tippecanoe Red Devils vs. Butler Aviators

The Tippecanoe Red Devils will venture away from home to square off against the Butler Aviators at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tippecanoe knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Butler likes a good challenge.

On Monday, Tippecanoe got the win against Stebbins by a conclusive 12-2. Considering the Red Devils have won nine matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Butler came up short against Piqua on Monday, falling 14-4. The Aviators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jami Brockert was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaz Whitman, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Tippecanoe is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Butler, their loss dropped their record down to 4-18.

Tippecanoe was able to grind out a solid win over Butler in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 11-6. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Aviators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
