Recap: Valley View Tigers vs. McAllen Bulldogs
The Valley View Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. 2024 welcomed they with a 72-51 loss courtesy of McAllen. Valley View has struggled against McAllen recently, as their match on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Mario Villegas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for McAllen, scoring 17 points along with eight assists and four steals. Those eight assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Rios, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Valley View's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 9-16. As for McAllen, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season.
Valley View will head out on the road to face off against Pioneer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Pioneer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday. As for McAllen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rowe at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
