Baseball Recap: Oak Grove Extends Winning Streak to Three

Oak Grove had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Satsuma Gators get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 17 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Wiley Hicks was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Troncalli, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Oak Grove lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The win (which was Oak Grove's third in a row) raised their record to 27-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Satsuma, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 22-11 record.

Oak Grove will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Gators: the pair will be back at it again later today.
