Winfield has gone 8-2 against Logan recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Generals will take on the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Winfield will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Winfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Sissonville, who was ranked 12th at the time (Winfield was ranked third). The Generals narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Indians 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Generals have posted against the Indians since April 10, 2023.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Logan took on Lincoln County on Thursday. The Wildcats fell 5-1 to the Panthers. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Logan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Richardson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Lena Setser also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Winfield's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Logan, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 16-7.

Winfield beat Logan 4-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Generals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
