Preview: Guyer vs. McKinney
The Guyer Wildcats will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against the McKinney Lions at 7:30 p.m.
Last Tuesday, Guyer faced Allen in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Guyer took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Allen. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Guyer couldn't quite close it out.
In what's become a running theme this season, McKinney gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Rock Hill with a sharp 4-1 win. The victory was just what McKinney needed coming off of a 3-0 loss in their prior contest.
They hit Rock Hill with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Antranik Souza,
Dylan Culbertson,
William Rodriguez, and
Drew Woods.
Guyer's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-2. As for McKinney, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2-3.
Everything went Guyer's way against McKinney in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 as Guyer made off with a 5-1 win. With Guyer ahead 3-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
