Football Recap: La Porte Comes Up Short Despite Dawson Shreve's Big Defensive Game

La Porte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 20-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Michigan City Wolves. The Slicers lost against the Wolves in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 39-0 score last time.

La Porte didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Dawson Shreve.

La Porte's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Michigan City, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, La Porte will be playing in front of their home fans against Portage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Slicers will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.63 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Michigan City, they will venture away from home to square off against Crown Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last six games.
