Volleyball Recap: West Field Longhorns vs. Ridgeline Riverhawks

After flying high against Mountain Crest last Tuesday, West Field came back down to earth. The West Field Longhorns came up short against the Ridgeline Riverhawks on Thursday, falling 3-0.

While West Field had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-21, 25-21.

Lucas Chugg paced West Field's offense, picking up eight kills. Chugg got some help from Owen Orrock and his 14 assists. Finally, Chugg was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Ridgeline can attribute much of their success to Jentzen Budge, who had 16 digs. Budge has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times he's played.

West Field's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Ridgeline, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

West Field didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Weber on the 15th. As for Ridgeline, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Stansbury on the 14th.
