Baseball Game Preview: Brownstown Central Braves vs. Switzerland County Pacers

The Brownstown Central Braves will challenge the Switzerland County Pacers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Friday just wasn't the day for Brownstown Central's offense. They came up short against Bedford North Lawrence on Friday, falling 10-0. That's two games in a row now that the Braves have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Switzerland County never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past Rising Sun 10-0. The Pacers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Roman Hite made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braxton Eaglin, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Carson Byrd was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Switzerland County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rising Sun only posted a batting average of .118.

Switzerland County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Brownstown Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
