Basketball Game Preview: Mundelein Mustangs vs. DeKalb Barbs

The Mundelein Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the DeKalb Barbs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Mundelein has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 31.

Mundelein heads in on the heels of a playoff match last Wednesday. They fell to Libertyville 46-40. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 117th).

Meanwhile, after a string of ten wins, DeKalb's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Warren Township.

Mundelein's record is now 9-22. As for DeKalb, their record now sits at 26-7.

Mundelein beat DeKalb 46-38 in their previous matchup back in December of 2017. Does Mundelein have another victory up their sleeve, or will DeKalb turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
