Softball Recap: Winston County Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Winston County put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They had just enough and edged out the Brilliant Tigers 12-10. The Yellowjackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

The team relied heavily on Jesalyn Dotson, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of A.J. SUTHERLAND, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Dotson wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Winston County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Winston County pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

The future could be bright for both Winston County and Brilliant: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Winston County will try to hand Addison their third-straight loss when the two meet at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Brilliant will look to extend Hubbertville's three-game losing streak when they meet at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
