Recap: Wilson Eagles vs. Cyril Pirates
There's no place like home for The Wilson Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They managed a 42-36 victory over Cyril on Friday. The victory was just what Wilson needed coming off of a 40-8 loss in their prior match.
When it comes to explaining why Cyril lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nash Harman. Despite the final result, he rushed for 164 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Logan Lawrence, who picked up 129 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Wilson's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-4. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Cyril, Alex, and Waurika. As for Cyril, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilson will take on Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Cyril, they will be playing at home against Waurika at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Waurika is ranked 43rd, while Cyril is ranked 33rd).
