Baseball Game Preview: Solon Comets vs. Norton Panthers

The Solon Comets will face off against the Norton Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Solon is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Solon is headed into the match having just suffered their closest defeat since May 6, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Hudson by a score of 7-5. On the bright side, the five- run performance marked the Comets' highest-scoring game to date.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Norton faced off against Mogadore on Thursday. The Panthers blew past the Wildcats 10-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Norton pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Solon, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
