Wingfield extends home losing streak to four

Recap: Wingfield Falcons vs. Warren Central Vikings

This season hasn't been kind to the Wingfield Falcons, who are still winless after their seventh match. They lost to Warren Central at home by a decisive 81-64 margin on Tuesday. Wingfield has not had much luck with Warren Central recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Wingfield's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Arrington, who scored 22 points. Arrington scored a full 34.4% of Wingfield's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kentrell Jordan, who scored 14 points along with 5 steals.

Wingfield bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Warren Central, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wingfield will square off against Oak Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Oak Grove presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wingfield in Mississippi (Oak Grove is ranked 106th, while Wingfield is ranked 281st). As for Warren Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
