Basketball Game Preview: Copiah Academy Colonels vs. Oak Forest Academy Yellowjackets

The Copiah Academy Colonels will square off against the Oak Forest Academy Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Thursday, Copiah Academy got the win against East Rankin Academy by a conclusive 67-42. Given the Colonels' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Patriots are ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Oak Forest Academy waltzed into their game on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They claimed a resounding 77-48 win over the Cougars.

Oak Forest Academy pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.3 points. As for Copiah Academy, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Copiah Academy ended up a good deal behind Oak Forest Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, losing 59-42. Can Copiah Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
