Softball Game Preview: Chincoteague Ponies vs. Salisbury Christian

Chincoteague is a perfect 4-0 against Salisbury Christian since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Ponies are taking a road trip to take on Salisbury Christian at 4:00 p.m. Chincoteague will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Chincoteague is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Wicomico 13-2 on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Ponies have won by exactly 11 runs.

Meanwhile, Salisbury Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Holly Grove Christian, falling 33-1.

Chincoteague pushed their record up to 2-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Salisbury Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Everything went Chincoteague's way against Salisbury Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Chincoteague made off with a 15-1 win. Will the Ponies repeat their success, or do Salisbury Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
