The Hays Hawks will take on the Weiss Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, everything came up roses for Hays against Lockhart as the squad secured a 53-22 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

It was another big night for Gabriel Peach, who rushed for 125 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 62 receiving yards and one score. Those 125 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Tacoma Ames was another key player, gaining 212 total yards and a touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hays was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 253 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 246 rushing yards in four consecutive games.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Hays' defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Nate Rolland, Josiah Salazar, and Kiefer Patterson, who each picked up one sack apiece. Hays got some further help from Kru Allen: he made 18 total tackles.
Meanwhile, while Weiss put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Cedar Creek. The Wolves simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 68-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wolves' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Eagles are ranked 1063rd).
Weiss found their leader in sophomore Jaxon Schad, who threw for 332 yards and five touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. With that strong performance, Schad is now averaging an impressive 303.3 passing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Jordan Ibn Anderson-El, who picked up 109 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Weiss' win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Hays, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. Hays has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 237 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Weiss has preferred to attack from the air: they average 323.3 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Hays took a serious blow against Weiss when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 63-13. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Hawks were down 42-0.
